Job Description of the Food and Beverage Supervision Department:
1. Supervise the activities of workshops and factories, as well as related products, and analyze the composition of food and beverage products.
2. Participate in control and supervision committees and assist in preparing relevant standards for the methods of manufacturing and controlling food and beverage products.
3. Control and supervise the manufacturing of materials regarding the formulation, safety of the product, and removal of unauthorized raw materials such as chemical toxins and prohibited additives.
4. Control and supervise the activities of food and beverage production units.
5. Study and collect technical information about food and beverage materials imported into the country.
6. Research materials that are banned by health organizations and international bodies, and prepare reports for the responsible authorities.
7. Study, review, and control references from international organizations.
8. Participate in meetings to request advertisements for food, beverage, cosmetic, and hygiene products regarding formulations and specifications of raw materials when necessary.
9. Prepare and organize regulations, laws, and guidelines related to materials, and propose amendments to existing laws and regulations when necessary, while overseeing their proper implementation.
10. Review formulations and compositions of food and beverage materials imported into the country and assess their differences from the initially submitted formulations.
11. Organize and conduct conferences and seminars to familiarize employees with relevant policies and methods.
12. Prepare and organize programs related to issuing permits for imported goods, establishment licenses, and production permits for food and beverage materials.
13. Sample food and beverage products from food industry producers.
14. Control imports and exports of food and beverage materials and issue necessary health permits in this regard.
15. Conduct joint inspections with relevant departments.
16. Respond to all inquiries regarding food and beverage materials.
17. Follow up on cases of violations by production units sent to judicial authorities until results are obtained.
18. Conduct training sessions for technical officials and experts.
19. Supervise the work and training of supervised staff, both administrative and technical.
20. Prepare responses to inquiries received by the Food and Beverage Supervision Department.
21. Follow up on complaints received by the department and prepare reports regarding them.
