1.    Policymaking and planning for the implementation of operational programs and performance evaluation mandated by the Food and Drug Organization.
2.    Receiving applications for the issuance of licenses for manufacturing units of natural products, traditional remedies, supplements, dietary formulas, and special foods; reviewing and inspecting the GMP conditions of manufacturing units; completing documentation and submitting it to the General Directorate for the issuance, renewal, or modification of licenses.
3.    Inspecting and monitoring pharmaceutical distribution companies.
4.    Inspecting and monitoring pharmacies.
5.    Addressing complaints related to natural products, traditional remedies, supplements, dietary formulas, and special foods.
6.    Coordinating internal and external efforts to implement health programs and policies.
7.    Managing the supply and distribution of dietary and regular formulas.
